Herbs and Health in the Kitchen

Image
The 'hearth' of the home is in the kitchen! Spending time in the kitchen preparing meals with the family is a wonderful way to build relationships as well as make delicious healthy foods! Hubby is the main chef in our kitchen. I like to make healthy food variations to add to his wonderful meals! I'm always making cultured foods such as: Kombucha, Kefir, Cultured Veges along with many recipes made with these cultured basics. I also love making Sour Dough Bread along with various recipes using this delicious bread. I think by far my favorite things to prepare are Herbal Teas and Herbal Medicinals! Each week I have opened up my kitchen to demonstrate and share recipes that help add extra nutrition to our everyday meals. It is also a fun way to spend time with friends and family! I also share hand-outs and of course Tasters! Follow Heritage Home~Place on FB for more information about these weekly  Herbs and Health In the

Farm Girl Life

Image
I LOVE living in the country! I love the life of a 'farm girl'! I love digging in the dirt, growing flowers,  herbs, fruits and vegetables, raising chickens, gathering eggs, milking goats and so much more! I enjoy having my children and grandchildren along side me during the day to day workings of my simple farm life. Now, when I say 'farm', I really mean 'farmette'. Farmette is my word for a 'tiny' farm operation. There is almost five acres of property here. That's  a micro operation of a farm. But, that's enough to keep me and hubby busy for sure! I love growing herbs, flowers and vegetables.   Our little 'farmette' is a lovely, peaceful sanctuary to birds, bees, butterflies and people. We really enjoy it when others come out and enjoy the gardens and just 'relax'. The gardens aren't perfectly 'landscaped' or without weeds, but they sure are pretty. I am a believer i

Grand Opening!

Welcome!  Heritage Home~Place Country Shoppe! We are so excited to welcome you to our new location! Heritage Home~Place was established in 2005 as a small mom and pop shop.  Our first opening was right here in our  home.  We sold bulk food items and gifts.  We moved to several 'in town' locations as we expanded our product line. As time went on we closed the retail end of the business  but continued with workshops and classes on various subjects of health and wellness. We re-opened the retail part of our business in a lovely location in our home town and was there for a short time and decided to re-locate to  the home place.  So, we bought a pre-built shed and renovated the interior. We decided to keep the inventory down to a smaller choice of fun foodie items and gifts. 7770 NE Jones Road Cameron, MO  64429 816-288-0498 Grand Opening:  Thursday, Friday and Saturday August 16

April Class "Herbs and Health in the Kitchen"

Image
We love gathering with others to learn about simple ways to  live a healthier life. Our April class was so much fun! The focus for this class was nourishing and strengthening our bodies through nutrition via herbs, spices and whole foods. We had some lively conversations about 'chicken feet'! You would have had to be there!  :-) Classroom Setting We usually meet at the home place.  But, due to renovation in our home,  we utilized a lovely room in the Old School in Cameron, MO. Daughter, Leah I love it when my daughters are able to help me at each class! Herbal Tasters Tasting the different herbal preparations is a great way to introduce the medicinal properties. When you taste a 'bitter' herbal preparation, you will always think about your digestive system and the benefits that 'bitters' role in digestive health. Nutritive Tea Blend This blend is made with lovely herbs that support and nourish our body sys
