Summer Fun!

Image
What an awesome summer we have had! Lots of family visits and family fun! Fireworks, Camping, Swimming, Canoeing, Laughing and Loving! Here is a pic of me and two of my daughters on a canoe trip on the Niangua. We camped at Bennett Springs but launched our canoeing from Niangua River Oasis, Inc. They support Komen for the Cure with PINK canoes! A portion of the canoe rental goes to the Komen and if you make a donation, they will match it! How cool is that!!! Our team: "Kickin' it Up" for the cure walked the Kansas City Komen walk on August 14. It was fun! There was about thirty thousand people there! People with passion for a cure to breast cancer. You can participate in our future Komen Passionate for the Cure Fundraisers by going to our events page at: Heritage Home~Place

Zinnias

Image
You gotta love the many colors of the Zinnia! My mom grew Zinnias when I was a young girl. They are my favorite flower. They certainly do not smell good though. But, their many colors and sizes are awesome! Butterflies and Hummingbirds love them too! I save the seed each year. I have plenty to share if you would like a Zinnia flower bed next year!

Baby Chick

Our grand-son Kobe is enjoying petting the baby bantum chick. Our two quail bantum hens each hatched off at least 10 chicks each. They are so tiny, cute and soft.

Country Kitchen

Image
MMM...there's nothing like the tantalizing smell of a fresh baked apple pie on a hot summer day! Having my Country Kitchen allows me to bake goodies without heating up the house. My Country Kitchen is in the attached garage. We spend a lot of time out there. We cook and bake in the 'almost' outdoors with one garage door open. Most of my decor comes from the Iron Horse in Cameron. A great place to get antiques and home decor! I will be getting a very special gift from my mom in Oklahoma. An antique electric stove! It will fit in beautifully! We will be baking up pies and goodies in the Country Kitchen for the All Gals' Camp Out this fall. Mark your calendars for Friday, September 30 - Saturday, October 1 for this fun event!
