Cold and Flu Season is upon us. How can we help our body to remain healthier during  this season?  One recipe that our family uses as a preventive measure and as a remedy during illness is Fire Cider. Fire Cider is a lovely, spicy drink made with several ingredients that build the immune system as well as fight against viral and bacterial infections. "Fire Cider" is a term that renowned herbalist Rosemary Gladstar made popular through her many books, classes, herb courses and teachings. The basic recipe includes: Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother) Ginger, Hot Peppers, Onions,  Garlic, Horseradish and Honey. Heritage Home~Place Shoppe

                                 I have to say, it has definitely been a busy but productive summer here on the farmette! The gardens did well in spite of a drought here. Soaker hoses saved the day!  My days were filled with grand-children, gardening, and camping trips!  Fun! Did I mention lots and lots of watering the gardens!?  Now that Fall is here, we will be busy digging roots, collecting seeds and clearing the now finished gardens. Well, we decided to add a new venture to the list! We opened up a small little shop by renting booth space inside a lovely shop called Iron Horse! The Iron Horse is filled with gifts, home decor and  many unique items!! We will be offering several items for sale in the booth. We are selling hand-crafted skin care products. I use all natural ingredients in all of the products that I make.  We have bath teas; body cream; salves; beard products etc in our space.  Even though I make skin care products to sell
