Baking Bread

Image
It all starts with the 'Little Red Hen'! Actually, it's a lot easier these days to mill your own flour from whole wheat grain!   I use a NutriMill to mill my grain into flour. Thankfully I do not have to gather the grain like the  Little Red Hen!  I order it from a local Bulk Food Store.   Using a Bosch Universal Mixer to make six loaves at a time is 'easy peasy'! I've always been curious about how the Little Red Hen kneaded her dough....   Little 'Chick' making her own Apple Cinnamon Bread!   Little 'Chick' breaking up the dehydrated apples.  Little 'Chick' adding Cinnamon and Apples! Roll it Up and Roll it Up Little 'Chick'! Fresh Cinnamon and Brown Sugar Glaze!  Bread Bowls!  Little 'Chick's' Lunch on fresh from the oven bread! Learn how to bake homemade bread HERE

Apple Pickin'

Apple Pickin'  My grand-daughter, Grace, and I had a lovely day picking apples from a family member's tree. It wasn't a very big tree, but it was loaded! Beautiful, Crisp, Red Deliciousness! I told Grace that she could take home what she picked. She filled the two smaller baskets. She was proud of her labor! Posing Pretty! Walnut Apple Cake Click HERE for the delicious recipe!

Shoppe Goods

I spent the entire day yesterday re-stocking our booth space in the Iron Horse Primitives . I love this place!  There are over 20 vendors that sell one-of-a-kind gifts, furniture, candles, home-decor and soooo much more! I created the above chalkboard from a picture frame that I got at a thrift store. I love chalkboards.  I also love 'layers'.  I like to layer burlap, fabric, lace  and little wooden stenciled words on each creation.  And of course mod-podge!  My son is also a creative soul. This birdhouse has a license plate roof and an antique door knob. And take a look at that super awesome license plate purse! Check out this beautiful wall hanging! It was also created by my son. It is made from an old green cabinet door. It has iron racks with tin-framed picture frames. It is framed out with antique spindles and crown molding.  Even my youngest daughter loves to create unique pieces. This old metal trunk has been up-cycled with

Kellie's Krew

As we follow our heart to make a difference in this world we are blessed beyond measure with the faith and courage that people live by every day.  We end up being the recipient. In our mission to be a blessing to women going through breast cancer, we end up being blessed. We were made aware of a family that was thrust into the breast cancer journey.  This lovely family shares their journey via Facebook and a Blog. Kellie Vanderslice was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer in September 2013, that has metastasized to her spine, hips, ribs, shoulders and skull, and also her liver. She and her husband Nick have 5 children...4 boys and a blessed 6 month old baby girl. Please be in prayer for this family as they battle cancer and glorify Christ through it all. Touched by Pink

It is amazing how 'pink' touches my heart everyday. I am touched by the people I meet that are going through breast cancer. Women of all ages are 'Fighting Like a Girl'. I met a lovely young woman on Etsy who just recently  lost her mother to breast cancer. She is selling beautiful Gift Baskets to help pay for the funeral. I encourage you to visit her Esty Shop: Cappellos Creations . Follow her FACEBOOK page. And above all say a prayer for her and her family.

New Year's Resolve

Image
Resolve :      (Verb) Decide firmly on a course of action.   (Noun) Firm determination to do something. The New Year always brings resolutions. Last year, my New Year's Resolution was to lose weight. This is a typical resolution for most people. I did accomplish my resolve to lose weight.  It wasn't easy! I joined a gym.  I hired a coach.  I counted calories. I sacrificed!  It was hard work!  But, I was determined. This year, I am resolved to accomplish a different type of goal. I am determined.  I am passionate.  I have a mission.  Our small business, Heritage Home~Place is dedicated to supporting local women that are going  through breast cancer treatment. 100% of our earnings goes toward this cause. I am passionate about this mission. I have already experienced the blessing of this mission. I invite you to join our cause. Read our Passionately Pink page for details on how you can participate in this rewarding mission.
